So what’s the real skinny on the Fat Loss 4 Idiots system? Allow me to provide a useful (though somewhat opinionated) product breakdown.
I’ve warned in the past against systems which promise fantastical things. In this case, the notion that a candidate can safely lose 9 pounds every 11 days seems neither safe, viable, nor sustainable (unless, perhaps, the absolute starting weight is rather high). Supposing in some anomalous “test” cases a candidate actually lost nine pounds in 11 days, repeatedly, it would be interesting to see how long the results lasted. So much can break down from crash diets, and the long-term results are disastrous. At the very least, these unfortunate victims gain back the weight lost and end up adding pounds, to boot. Crash diets can crash a metabolism. So, to claim “9 pounds in 11 days” is only the beginning of the story, I fear. Experience urges me to admonish against a program handing out false hope and harmful roadmaps, despite the predominant positive feedback online.
I’m not saying that the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program is a complete crock. I actually like the diet plan. The simple logic and basic science underlying the nutritional content and sequencing make sense, and many a candidate will likely realize fat loss from following the recommendations. My beef is with outlandish claims which mislead people – hyperbole for the sake of making a sale.
Here’s an synopsis of the meal plan:
Fat Loss 4 Idiots food is made up of lean proteins, fruit and vegetables, and the sources of fat come from whole foods (such as cottage cheese or eggs). There are some starchy carbohydrates (such as oats and pasta). The day is divided into 4 meals that should be eaten at a minimum of 2 1/2 hours apart. There is no calorie or carb counting, no limit on portion size - Fat Loss 4 Idiots says you “just eat short of being full”. After the 11 day meal plan there is a 3 day “cheat” – where you get to eat whatever you want. Then you are back into the 11 day plan again.
The meal plan is created by selecting from a list of preferred foods. These are then used to generate your meal plan.
The upside is that the diet MIGHT work for some folks. It is easy to learn and follow, and does not require a scientific mind to absorb and implement. Just don’t expect to lose 9 pounds every 11 days (unless you’re starting at 500 lbs and pounding out p90X and Insanity workouts like a fiend).

We’ve researched actual user reviews and posted six of them below, representative of the broader pool of feedback which we studied. For the most part, users seemed very excited with the results of the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet, with no record of program dissenters from actual users.
Real User Feedback #1: This morning I am at 152. That was my goal and I made it. 33 lbs lost, thanks to FL4I. I love this WOE. I started my journey on Feb 6, 2012 and here I am Arp 25, 2012 with 33 lbs behind me. Though I realize my journey is not over as I still have fine tuning I want to do and maintenance is a part of the battle. So as I finish out this cycle and prepare for the next leg of my journey, I am just so proud of myself. Stick to it guys, this plan works if you work it
Real User Feedback #2: Hello all, I made it to the 11th day and I am elated. I lost the 9lbs and can tell the difference mostly in my waist and arms. My stomach has not been this flat in ages. I am 5′ and started at 133 and ended at 124. I give two thumbs up for this diet. I had previously counted calories for months just to lose 3lbs or so while I starved the entire time. I was never hungry on this diet which made it a breeze. The water drinking was a little much so instead of committing to the 10 glasses per day, I made sure I did eight – which wasn’t that hard. I probably had alot of water weight so the extra water pushed it out. I don’t eat pork or beef so my meal plan consisted of a lot of fish and nuts – alot of nuts. I rekindled my love of fruit, which was a surprise and I hope the extra fruit and veggies help my cholesterol. I rarely deviated from the plan and when I did I substituted a meal from another day. I pretty much stayed on track the whole time. I put on a pair of shorts that I had on just last week and they are now about two inches too big – SWEET !!! Tomorrow – I will eat what I want but I will try darn hard not too fill up. I think that and the water is the key – If I drink the water, I’m already full for the most part so my portions are very small. I highly recommend it – best $$ I’ve ever spent. Real User Feedback #3: Hey there, I just wanted to share my success with other people that are overweight or that have some fat that they’d like to lose. I started Fat Loss 4 Idiots over a month ago and I’ve now lost 27lbs (actually still losing!). I tried pretty much EVERY program in the past but I’ve finally found one that I’ve been able to integrate into my daily schedule and I just love it. P.S. If you’re trying to lose weight you really just have to stick with it no matter what and never give up! Thanks, Michelle
Real User Feedback #4: This diet can definately help you lose the weight. I lost 30 pounds last year in just a few cycles. I kept the weight off until the holidays when i could/would not contain myself with the food I ate. I am now back on the diet to lose the 10 pounds I put back on the the other 30 or so that I need to lose anyway. When I was done with the diet last year I did not follow the diet to the letter. Just made the food selections based on the diet choices and made sure to eat plenty of protien. I did not gain any back until the end of the year holidays. I cannot tell you if the diet will work as well if you are mixing them up, but you need to do what works best for you and will help you stick to it. I did not find the diet that hard to stick to with my weekend activities as I thought it would be. Good luck!!

Real User Feedback #6: I have to say I have been EXTREMELY NAUGHTY lol, I was on day 5 of my second cyle of 11 days and we (me, boyf and baby) went away for 3 days over weekend. We started off having the ‘diet’ breakfasts….but ended up having chineses, fish and chips, lots of wine etc etc!! I was so mad with myself as when I got home I had put back on 3lbs (I had lost 2lbs up until that point). Anyway I got back on it yesterday (day 8) and I have now lost that 3lbs in 2 days again, although I am furious with myself as I would have lost double that had I not been gone away Anyway my final day is Thursday so I will let you know how much I have lost on Friday morning. I currently weigh 159 and am 5ft 8″ tall so I am still very happy with how quickly it comes off! Beats weight watchers, slimming world and atkins, been on them all! Good luck with your weight loss, how ever you are doing it!
Fat Loss Reviews: Conclusion
I must admit that I was skeptical at first. Losing “9 pounds in 11 days, again and again” is a stretch. Perhaps unhealthy, or at least unrealistic for most people. Honestly, it bothers me because its simply a buzz-line to make more sales, because most people don’t have an absolute starting weight that would allow such massive fat loss quantities in such a short period of time, so I suspect she has taken an anomalous sample and used it for promotion.
Even so, the fat loss community and especially the actual users were quite excited about it. Not simply content, but excited. So, I have to give Fat Loss 4 Idiots a nod of approval (yes, the diet plan is veritable and proven. I just don’t like the salesy rhetoric).
